Joy in Motion
Joy in Motion at Graland Country Day School
On February 12, 2026, Tweezy, Raw and Chopz visited Graland Country Day School to help celebrate their “Joy in Motion” themed Community Day. The day started with an all school assembly led by the students. School of Breaking shared a presentation about Hip-Hop culture. We talked about how we use the creative elements of Hip-Hop to bring us joy and help us to express ourselves in a way that brings us all together in Unity. We told the auditorium of staff, students, caregivers and community members about the importance of Hip-Hop’s values and how we use them everyday.
After the assembly, we taught workshops for six classes and one special workshop for staff and caregivers. The whole school had a special community lunch of pizza and cookies outside in the sunshine. At the end of the day, the six classes that practiced special routines performed for the whole school. We made a special effort to include the staff for some Joy in Motion. The field house erupted with cheers and chants encouraging their teachers to get up and dance.
Peace, Love, Unity and Having Fun were definitely in the building at Graland Country Day School!
