Black History Month – 2022

Paying Our Respects to Those Who’ve Paved The Way for Hip-Hop Culture to Thrive

In honor of Black History Month, we encourage you to take the time to learn about the influence of Black leaders, innovators, and artists in our nation’s history. Without a doubt, a mere month is nowhere close to enough time to celebrate the countless stories and individuals deserving of the spotlight. And so many stories are left untold. That said, we encourage you to think beyond just this month, and continue to educate yourself on, pay respect, and give credit to those who have paved the way.

In particular, we’re shining light on the Black artists who shaped, innovated, and created Hip-Hop culture. While we are only sharing a handful of them here, we dedicate this blog post to all of the artists, pioneers, and educators who have paved the way for us all to be a part of this world wide culture. We pay our respects to those who are no longer here to receive the flowers we owe them, Rest in Power!
