Beginner Level Hip-Hop Accolades
Accolade Badges
Students must obtain all 11 badges to qualify for Intermediate Level Hip-Hop. Badges can be attained at any time throughout the season. Student’s that earn an Accolade Badge will receive an accolade sticker for their Hip-Hop Book to mark the successful completion of that accolade. Students who have earned accolade badge stickers throughout the year will be recognized on stage at the End-of-Session Jam to receive their official accolade badge patch that will prove their earned ‘right of passage’ for those accolades.
The 11 accolade badges are:
- History & Culture Badge I – Write out answers to a list of questions on the history and culture of Hip-Hop.
- Strength & Flexibility Badge I – Demonstrate your strength and flexibility through timed exercises.
- Concrete Badge – When a student dances outdoors on the cement. Students can submit a video or schedule a Private Lesson to dance outside with their instructor.
- Practice Badge I – When a student clocks in 3 hours of practice time. Applies and shows good practice ethics and discipline in the classroom.
- Music Badge I – When a student does research and creates their own music playlist to listen and practice to. Write an essay about one of the musicians and songs from the playlist.
- Groove Badge – Demonstrate your groove. Applies grooves in the classroom.
- Beginner Social Dance Badge – Demonstrate all Beginner Level Social Dance moves. Instructor initials are required.
- Beginner Steps Badge – Demonstrate all Beginner Level Steps. Instructor initials are required.
- Beginner Isolations Badge – Demonstrate all Beginner Level Isolations. Instructor initials are required.
- Beginner Street & Funk Styles I Badge – Demonstrate all Beginner Level Street and Funk Dance Forms. Instructor initials are required.
- Beginner Level Hip-Hop Badge – Successfully complete your Beginner Level Demonstration and qualify for Intermediate Level.
