Beginner Level Breaking Accolades

Accolade Badges 

A total of eleven Accolade Badges will need to be attained to qualify for Intermediate Level Breaking. Students that earn an Accolade Badge will receive an accolade sticker for their Break Book to mark the successful completion of that accolade. Students who have earned Accolade Badge stickers throughout the year will be recognized at the End-of-Season Jam to receive their official Accolade Badge patch; proof of their earned ‘right of passage’ for those accolades. 

The 11 Accolade Badges and criteria are:

  1. History & Culture Badge I Write out answers to a list of questions on the history and culture of Hip-Hop & Breaking; to be completed during Level Demonstration.
  2. Strength & Flexibility Badge I Demonstrate your strength and flexibility through timed exercises.
  3. Concrete Badge – When a student dances outdoors on the cement. Students can submit a video or schedule a Private Lesson to dance outside with their instructor.
  4. Practice Badge I – When a student clocks in 3 hours of practice time. Applies and shows good practice ethics and discipline in the classroom. Students have to sign-off with initials plus receive an initial from their instructor. 
  5. Music Badge I – When a student does research and creates their own music playlist. Write an essay about one of the musicians and songs from the  playlist.
  6. Beginner Top Rock Badge Demonstrate all Beginner Level Top Rock moves. Instructor initials are required.
  7. Beginner Go Down BadgeDemonstrate all Beginner Level Go Down moves. Instructor initials are required.
  8. Beginner Footwork Badge Demonstrate all Beginner Level Footwork moves. Instructor initials are required.
  9. Beginner Power Moves Badge Demonstrate all Beginner Level Power Moves. Instructor initials are required.
  10. Beginner Freezes Badge Demonstrate all Beginner Level Freezes. Instructor initials are required.
  11. Beginner Level Breaking Badge Successfully complete your Beginner Level Demonstration and qualify for Intermediate Level.
